Well, to say the least, I’ve decided to go full force into 2018 with setting and keeping some serious intentions. Last year (actually the last 5-ish years) have been a real doozy. Lots (and lots and lots) of ups and downs which have amounted to a great feeling of being lost, unmotivated, sometimes depressed, sometimes a huge lacking of self confidence and so forth. I’m sure I’ve mentioned all of that before. I really didn’t want this blog to just be a “vent” blog. Anyways, I’m extremely tired of living that way. I’m not sure, well actually I know, that all my days aren’t going to be up days like today while I write this, but if I can just manage to keep getting through the tough days or the not-so-great days, then the important thing is that I keep going – as long as I keep going.
The other day, I read this quote “The first step in crafting a life you want is to get rid of everything you don’t.” — Joshua Becker, Becoming Minimalist
Great motto. I also tend to take things very literal. I’m a serious person, which is weird because my favorite thing is to laugh, make jokes, and not be serious. I’m definitely still trying to find a balance between who I am and who I wish I were and making those align, which includes learning how to lighten up.
Hey there folks,
How are you people doing? It’s the 4th of July as I write this post and my-oh-my, you sure have come a long way America, but I must say, you certainly have a lot more work to do. I’ve thought a lot lately, much about things to blog about, but I haven’t been able to sit down a get it out. I’ve started to keep a little notebook with ideas so that I can revisit things later when I have time to sit > think > type. However, sometimes that backfires and I literally forget to write down my little idea. BUMMER.
“..But, just start writing,” I say, pretty much always to myself because who else hears me talk but this high-strung toddler and the non-stop smiling infant. It’s been hard to come up with that very first blog post. I mean, I can come up with about 1 million ideas a day and about 968,354 of those said ideas are GREAT ideas, but I have allowed ZERO time for getting them on paper, or this blog. Don’t worry, most of that great idea talk is sarcasm.
